Therapy for Teenagers (with the support of the Telus Foundation)
July 2024
Every human being possesses multiple forms of intelligence — intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social. Each of these needs its own kind of education.
To develop all these dimensions that make us such complex human beings, we must begin learning about them from childhood. We need the right kind of education to nurture them.
Adolescence is the time when future adults still see clearly the violence hidden behind indifference, superficial aspirations, hypocrisy, injustice, pride, and many other aspects that do not honor adulthood. Teenagers yearn, more than ever, for role models — people who can inspire, motivate, and awaken admiration in them.
Through the therapy groups for teenagers led by Maestra Tara, she teaches them step by step how to cultivate human qualities while staying aware of life’s challenges.
She helps them understand how the conscious and subconscious mind work and teaches them techniques for facing — rather than avoiding — the daily problems that keep reappearing if left unresolved.
To become more aware of their reactions and of their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs, they must learn to set the right intention in every action. With the help of the techniques they learn and consistent practice, they gradually form a conscious way of living.
Teenagers are at an age when they naturally seek love and want to experience it, but they need guidance to know themselves and understand the rules of life, as we do not live in an ideal world with perfect people. In their search for love, their subconscious brings inherited patterns to the surface — their partners become mirrors reflecting the relationship models they have unconsciously absorbed.
As they explore life in all its forms, adolescents are often tempted to try everything — smoking, drugs, violence, speeding, pornography, and more. Without understanding why they are curious or why they repeat certain behaviors, they can easily become addicted. Through her personal development courses, Tara helps teenagers understand the chemical and physical mechanisms in the human body that lead to addiction, as well as how thoughts, emotions, and sensations work — both physically and energetically — to create dependency. Once they understand the complexity of the human being, she teaches them practical techniques for cleansing the body and mind of these toxic attachments.
Working step by step on the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual levels, the teenagers open up and cooperate with Tara because they feel loved, seen, and supported — receiving valuable education that responds to their inner questions.
Tara worked with two separate groups — one for boys and one for girls — addressing each group’s specific needs. She connected with the informational and energetic field of the young participants to understand their individual needs and the karmic inheritance from their families, in order to offer personalized guidance.
With both groups, she focused on the theme of relationships — both the inner relationship each person has with themselves and the relationships they build with others.
The participants received explanations and practical solutions for the challenges they face in daily life — techniques they could apply even after the very first session. For example, Tara explained to the girls what a toxic relationship means and how to free themselves from one. They learned that if they have low self-esteem and lack self-confidence, they become victims and will likely attract abusive partners.
Tara taught them techniques to improve self-esteem, starting from recognizing their own sensations, emotions, energy level, and overall vitality. She encouraged them to take responsibility, to do good deeds daily, and to cultivate themselves intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and socially.
In the boys’ group, Tara worked extensively on helping them recognize the anger they carry within. If unacknowledged and unprocessed, it can surface unexpectedly and turn into aggression. She taught them techniques for self-observation and for cleansing toxic energy.
Tara also emphasized the importance of working with the physical body. When energy stagnates, emotions rise to the surface. Physical exercises performed correctly allow energy to flow freely through the body, supporting emotional healing and personal balance. She also taught them how to recharge with clean energy.
The teenagers left with renewed confidence and the desire to return, having felt real, positive changes in themselves through Tara’s loving and professional guidance over the course of several sessions.
